Let's Make A Difference!
In 1960 an intelligent young Democrat by the name of John Fitzgerald Kennedy was elected President of the United States of America. My parents were elated. Their happiness made me happy. In my childhood I cheered for a man who promised to cut taxes in order to stimulate the economy! The country was in a good mood. Positive things were happening.
“Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.” This quote still resonates with me today. Wow…What a leader! President Kennedy was a true visionary. I can’t imagine even one Democrat debating such futuristic vision. Can you?
It was futuristic vision because nearly identical policies have been implemented successfully twice since that time. In fact, several of the economic records being set today date back to the successes of the Kennedy administration. What a great template President Kennedy so selflessly gave to “we the people” of the United States of America.
One might ask, “Why are you, a Republican, speaking so highly of a Democrat…so highly of President Kennedy? Why have you moved away from the Democratic Party?” My reply, “I didn’t. The Democratic Party moved away from me!” I am still that same person. I still support stimulating the economy via tax cuts. I have heard it said that most of todays Republicans are simply ’60’s Democrats.
In fact, two of the most prominent Republican leaders, President Ronald Reagan and President Donald J. Trump are prime examples. Both administrations, like the Kennedy administration, cut taxes and successfully stimulated your economy, my economy, our economy.
I can’t imagine, by any stretch of the imagination, that President Kennedy would even recognize the Democratic Party of today. Can you imagine President Kennedy supporting a presidential candidate who honeymooned in Russia? I can't.
If you are still a President Kennedy Democrat then your values remain unchanged and it is the Democratic Party that has moved away from you.
Please stand with me and vote the values we grew up with. Vote your core values, vote Republican in 2020.
Just maybe, the Democratic Party will get your message and move back to you. The only way this will ever happen is if you force the issue. To make a difference it takes more than one person. It takes a neighborhood, a city, a county, a state. Together then, Let's Make A Difference. Vote for TJ Smith and together we will make a difference. Vote Republican.
